This one's a long one to explain the whole process of obtaining recombinant DNA. I know I had to speed up a bit in class, so I trust that this will give you an opportunity to view it at your own pace and try to further understand the process. Ask if you have any problems ok.

Under the microscope
I realised that this website is actually selling the microscope images it has but you can preview the image by clicking on the image indexes. Knowing how certain cells look like through the microscope would be helpful especially when doing practicals (paper 3 and 5). Only problem is the pictures are not labelled.

Explore your memory

If you're anything like me, you've probably knocked yourself on the head many times before because you just can't remember the things that you ought to. And if you're anything like me, a test like this is just too tempting not to try. So enjoy getting to know your memory strengths and weaknesses!

For those who were learning this cell splitting process, here's a link to a good animation that will help you understand meiosis and it's different stages, including what happens in each stage.

Health wise
This site has an interactive body atlas that provides in-depth demonstrations of more than 240 common diseases and disorders—from prostate to breast cancer to ear infections. This will help us understand some diseases that we often come across including some that we covered in class.

Smoking and your body

Since we've been talking about this in some of my classes, I thought I'd just leave the link to this animation on the blog so anyone who's interested can access it and use it as a reminder of what smoking does to your body.
