Insectivor-ism

My friend got me in the mood for some insectivorous plants (specifically, the Venus flytrap) on our trip to Cameron Highlands. I still haven't heard the end of it from him. This is the little pot he got for his garden (I'm tempted to grow some myself now). And here are 2 sites that he introduced me to:

http://www.botany.org/bsa/misc/carn.html (excellent site for you non-readers out there)

Mary, Mary quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
"Well, I feed it with rats,
And sometimes cats,
What else they'd eat i don't know"

interesting plant that you want to plant.

well, may I let you know too, that Venus fly trap is not easy to grow in our climate. and if it does grow, it can grow very fast and spread fast too...

here is another interesting plant which we can get in our local nursery, the monkey cup or Nephentes. its also known as the pitcher plant. its also carnivorous. check out more details at

enjoy!

Now all we need is to give it motility...
Then every cliche' 70's horror movie will come true..

"Attack of the Man Eating Flytrap"

*screeems and runs away....

;P

It's really ironic that plants are eaten by herbivorous animals, and then there's a carnivorous plant that eats animals.

Interesting you know, God's creation.

How was the KDU book fest today sir? So unlucky I didn't get to go. Had to settle... some stuff...
